The 21st PASMISS (The 21st Annual Meeting of the Pacific and Asian Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery)

Scientific Program

Members and Guests

This is the first annual meeting that will be in full Web format.

Please take advantage of the fact that you do not need to go to the site by connecting to many people online.
You can attend conferences and share up-to-date information at home or at work.

The deadline for abstracts was closed on May 10, and 97 abstracts were collected. As a result of peer review, 79 presentations were adopted as oral presentations and 17 presentations were adopted as posters. In 2 days, there will be 2 special lectures, 2 invited lectures, 9 PASMISS seminars, and 16 faculty lectures

I will briefly introduce the contents of the first day of July 2nd.
The opening ceremony will start at 8:40 am on July 2nd, and the meeting will be held until 19:00 in the evening. A full endoscopic surgery session will be held on July 2nd. Each country gives a presentation that can be fixed only with the endoscope, and each UBE has its own characteristics, so hot discussions can be expected.

On behalf of Japan, Professor Koichi Sairyo will give a special lecture on the cutting edge of full endo-surgery including fixation. In addition, an osteoporosis session will be included, and the indications for BKP and the evaluation of osteoporosis will be discussed.

In the evening faculty lecture, there will be lectures by big names from Japan and Korea. In addition, a lecture on ISCT, that is, Intra Spinal Canal Treatment, which is a hot topic recently, is being planned. It is a technique to remove the lumbar disc hernia and cauterize with an insertion tube from the sacral fissure. A study group has been set up, and there is also a certificate system.

Please join us at this hot conference.

Members and Guests

Continuing from the last time, I will briefly introduce the second day of the conference.

MIS lectures are scheduled from the morning of July 3rd.
There is a session of diagnostic imaging that makes full use of the latest AI.
Improving diagnostic ability is important for performing MIS. New methods of MRI will also be discussed.

LIF indications are widespread to correction of adult deformity, 5S1 fixation, and one position surgery are also discussed. In addition, many cases have been reported from China. Professor Seiji Ohtori will give a lecture on the history of LIF and the future.

In the special lecture,”Extended reality (XR: VR/AR/MR) for spatial surgical navigation and online telemedicine”, Professor Maki Sugimoto of Surgery, Teikyo University will show the world of XR, which is a concept that has expanded further from VR. The future operating room we have been waiting for is here.

In the invited lecture, Professor Yukihio Matsuyama will talk about the concept of intradiscal enzyme injection therapy, which is exactly the treatment of minimal invasiveness.

Oral sessions will also re-discuss the significance of robotics, back pain and MIS.
The program will be a full two-day program, but if you are a young member who is interested in surgical techniques in the near future, please join us.

The Society is an academic meeting aimed at reducing the invasiveness of spinal surgery in Asia-Pacific countries and is particularly characterized by its friendliness among its members. Face-to-face academic meetings are desirable, but this time we gave many lectures to take advantage of the features of the Web. For that reason, it was a lot, but I promise that it will be a meaningful time.

We look forward to your participation.
